The one on the top is shifted left. The centre of each shape is not vertically aligned, creating this illusion. Tricks the brain for a sec but I'm a tile installer and we have to deal with odd shapes and perspective all the time! It can be confusing however and ive seen many a diagruntled customer after a previous installer didn't center correctly and it looks terrible... Especially herringbone.. So to my fellow tile guys out there, if you haven't installed herringbone or similar, google it and you'll save yourselves embarrassment and money haha!

It’s an illusion. The bottom of the shape is narrower than the top. So it makes the top one look smaller when the smaller edge is against the longer edge. Also they aren’t stacked directly on top of each other. The top one is more to the left, also making it appear even shorter. But they are the same lol
